Introduction
Whisker 2 is a 2.5D baking game that is a reimagined and expanded version of Whisker. I wanted to create a second version because I felt like some really great ideas were left behind to meet the COSMOS deadline, and I wanted to see them actually come to life.
I expanded on everything that made Whisker what it is — more recipes and maps — and improved on it by adding a settings and pause panel and visual effects. I also added more interactivity into the game by making the doors and ovens open and close.

Design Changes
Initially, Whisker was supposed to have a garden and a beverage bar, but those were cut to conserve time. While adding these mechanics into Whisker 2, I found that it would be better to separate them into their own levels with their own themes. I wanted each map to have a distinct mechanic rather than cramming three different core cooking methods into the Bakery.
Art & Design Lessons
Creating my own art assets for Whisker 2 taught me how important art and design are. It inspired me to make more artwork and dedicate Whisker 3 to improving the graphics.
How Player Feedback Influenced the Project
Our last demo made it clear that the UI still lacked a lot of features. The most glaring was the absence of a stop button.
